Creative Direction

I can help enhance your brand positioning in the marketplace by developing a creative strategy whose end results excite your customers and build brand loyalty. A creative content strategy can even be devised for new-business and client pitches which can increase your chances of winning work.

Brand Guidelines / 2016

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”50941″ img_size=”full” css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_column_text]In order to help establish itself as a premium activewear brand, the Pomelo Group wanted strategic guidance on how to best present its brand to consumers. With my fashion experience, I was invited to develop the brand’s vision and create a set of brand guidelines which touched on the company’s mission, identity, USP, value proposition, positioning, target customers, voice, and brand pillars. I was also invited to create a set of social media guidelines which provided practical advice on image selection, sizes, and messaging.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator border_width=”10″][vc_column_text]

Emerald & Doreen 200 Launch / 2017

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”50955″ img_size=”full” css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_column_text]To help celebrate the launch of the Emerald and Doreen 200, a compilation of music mixed to highlight German record label Emerald & Doreen’s recent releases, the label invited me to premiere the album to which I created a static exhibition containing 17 bespoke bomber jackets each representing an artist contained in the compilation. The jackets were shown off at a special event while the compilation’s mix played in the background. The jacket designs were developed into an exhibition catalogue I designed which was given out to visitors.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator border_width=”10″][vc_column_text]

Style of Sound Vol.2  / 2017

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn”]

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]To celebrate the launch of the Style of Sound Vol. 2 compilation for German record label Emerald & Doreen, I developed an interactive exhibition where a set of 17 fragrances were designed to create a sensory link between the music contained on the compilation and the artwork. In addition to the fragrances, I incidentally chose the songs on the compilation, created the compilation mix, and designed the compilation artwork.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator border_width=”10″][vc_column_text]

Various  / 2001–2010

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”51027″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_column_text]In 2001 I launched a lifestyle magazine called Spektacle in London as a result of winning a prize for creativity from Deutsche Bank. The original magazine took the form of a CD-ROM designed using the now defunct Macromedia Director, and presented on a chopped record to create visual presence on the crowded magazine shelves of Europe. The première issue attracted the attention of many tastemakers and was subsequently included in a book on cutting-edge new magazine design.

Not one to fear technology, I evolved the magazines through various formats including PDFs with embedded video and audio, a strictly online version, a mobile app for iPhones, and a printed version with QR codes. Having video and audio integrated into the magazine was an important element to readers, and QR codes seemed to be an elegant solution to deliver media which helped bring to life music, film and interviews.

In addition to its innovative ways of delivering lifestyle content, the magazine was also well-respected for its shelf presence. The last four issues of Spektacle were packaged into actual picture frames which not only helped the magazine differentiate itself, but also provided consumers with a way to elegantly display the magazines in their homes.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”51031″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_single_image image=”51030″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_single_image image=”51029″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_single_image image=”51028″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_separator border_width=”10″][vc_column_text]
